Reporting to the Purchasing Controller, the primary purpose of this role is to perform efficient purchasing administration for the Companys resource requirements, whilst ensuring that profitability, inventory and cash management objectives are met.
The Role:
Working alongside the planning department, you will ensure that there are clear objectives in providing raw materials to the production team in line with the schedule. Raw inventory levels will be monitored and controlled, which will entail reporting inventory levels and delivery arrears on a weekly basis. The successful candidate will also be required to obtain information from relevant sources and update all applicable purchasing files and other purchasing related documents, including monitoring and recording Supplier Vendor Rating status. This role also requires you to work closely with the Quality Department to resolve any raw material NCRs.
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
Experience in a similar role within a process manufacturing environment.
The ability to perform data analysis and provide accurate performance data on behalf of the Purchasing department.
Experience of hedging / material pricing would be a district advantage.
Must have excellent purchasing and negotiation skills.
A keen eye for detail.
Good computer literacy, including all Microsoft applications and ideally experience of using Production and Quality Systems.
A professional qualification in purchasing or is working towards one.
